The exhibition Ysbrid Lie/Spirit of Place will launch on Friday 23rd February 2024 at Abertridwr Community Centre. My bespoke fabric inspired by Jon Pountney’s photographs of the Eglwysilan area has been made into an amazing camouflage coat by costume designer Lindsay Bonaccorsi. If you fancy trying it on - come along and say hello!

The cut steel panels that I designed for Cadw’s refurbishment of Porthmawr in Caernarfon are ready for install. Grosvenor are in the process of finishing the roof and I’m looking forward to heading to site with Make Your Mark Studio to see the install this month!

We’re so happy to have been commissioned to work with Make Your Mark Studio on artwork and installation for Porth Mawr, the Cadw owned gateway into Caernarfon town.

Were the skies blue when we climbed that ladder? Of course they damn well weren’t! Luckily we didn’t blow away and since our site visit in early April we’ve been working on designs that help tell the history of the towers. Fingers crossed we’ll be able to share pictures towards the end of summer.

Our feelings for The Secret Garden cafe are going public. We’ve hand painted them onto a board to be displayed in Bute Park. It may be cheesy but it’s true. Mel spends her days nurturing nature and nourishing community and kindness. This board will look a lot smaller in it’s new hanging space than it looked in our hallway but we know the sentiment will be felt by the people that so appreciate the offering. Thanks Mel and your amazing team. Keep your eyes peeled!

Oh so pleased that our Germinate fabric now features in The Office of National Statistics. The fabric is one of three of our designs that are available as standard on Orangebox Campers and Dens product range.

We’re looking forward to running a creative workshop at The Turner House Gallery in Penarth on 11th August.

The workshop has been scheduled to tie in with the dates of the Matisse: Drawing with Scissors, a Hayward Gallery touring exhibition from the Southbank Centre on show at the Turner House from 29th July to 22nd August 21. Work produced at the workshop will remain on show in the space for the duration of the exhibition.

Winter 2020; what an incredible difficult time for the country and especially the NHS. Throughout the pandemic Chris was treated for melanoma at Velindre Cancer Centre where there is an incredible amount of love, support and expertise. What a privilege it was to doodle on the doors of the main entrance as a small thank you for all their wonderful work. We are so happy to hear that our winter scene has been raising the spirits of both staff and patients. This is a special place full of very special people.

We were happy to be part of The Wallich Postcards From Home project. The charity do wonderful work helping people live safer, happier, more independant lives and combat homelessness. Our Home Is Where The Hope Is postcard is one of eight designs by Welsh artists being sold to raise funds for this worthwhile cause. The project was organised by I Loves The ‘Diff

Simion Hawtin-Smith of Reloved Upholstery and Design chose our Gertie Games upholstery fabric for his latest BBC Money For Nothing makeover, which will air in the coming months.

The vintage tulip chairs looked like they’d had a hard life but fortunately they were saved from the skip by Jay Blades. They were in poor condition and had to be stripped back to the bare bones and repaired.

We love how Simion has brought them back to life and the eye-popping pair sold immediately they were revealed. The orange fabric was printed to perfectly match our pattern colour palette and the seat cushions are reversable. We can offer this plain colour matching and printing service for all our fabrics, just contact us and we can chat through your requirements.

Our London Collection has made it onto the FX International Design Awards shortlist and the Mixology South Awards and we are dancing the fandango!

On 11 May at 2pm we’ll be telling our story and running a #patternistas_workshop at the Apple Store in Regent Street, London.

The event is scheduled as part of London Craft Week and will be the first Regent St Store event to include both analogue and digital design.

The judges

Each year a different panel of 20 distinguished experts from our industry are invited to judge the submissions. They include designers, architects, engineers, and clients and are chosen for their authority, integrity and experience.

The glamorous black tie ceremony to celebrate the the awards is held at the Grosvenor Hotel in London and kicks off party season with plenty of sparkle. Fingers crossed for the award but we'll be hitting the dance floor either way.

We’re over the moon to report that our Patternistas for Panaz fabric collection won the Mix Interiors Mixology 2018 award in the Surfaces category. 

The Mixology South Awards are an annual ceremony held at London’s wonderful Old Billingsgate Market on the banks of the Thames. They’re hosted by Mix Interiors Magazine to recognise the market leaders and key influencers of commercial interior design and this year’s event was attended by a record number of over 1,100 architects, designers and manufacturers.

We're mighty pleased to announce our latest pattern collaboration, with the very nice folk at Newmor wallcoverings, is being launched at the Heimtextil International Trade Fair for Home and Contract Textiles in Frankfurt.

Heimtextil is the biggest international trade fair for home and contract textiles, and is being held from 9 to 12 January 2018. The first trade fair of the year, it is a climate and trend barometer for the new business year.

We have two patterns being shown on the Newmor stand E34 in Hall 3.1. Each is produced as contract wallcovering with five colourways, they are manufactured at 1220mm wide or can be sized individually for a particular wall installation. The first is 'SECRET' a lush, leafy pattern which is available in five different colourways; the second is ‘Tern’ which was inspired by watching this most delicate of sea birds on a family holiday in Croatia. It is available now in five colourways.

Our collaboration is part of "Newmor Designer" which is a new concept to add designer brands to their collection. Created exclusively for Newmor by established designers and available for recolouring, resizing and printing onto any of their wallcovering materials, including textures and metallics. These designs also look great printed onto window film.

The ordering process is simple – send Newmor your wall dimensions and chosen design. They will then send you samples to check colour and print quality, and a visual of the design fitted to your wall. Once these are approved Newmor can get printing and your order will be dispatched within 7-10 days.

Our mission to cover the world in pattern is gathering momentum with the news that we’ve been shortlisted for Design Team of the Year in the Mixology 2018 awards. As part of Wales Week in London we are exhibiting our Gannet rug in the Exhibition of Contemporary Welsh Art, this Friday and Saturday March 9th & 10th at the London Welsh Centre, Grays Inn, London.

It is free to visit and open to all, so if you're interested in contemporary Welsh art then this is a superb opportunity for you to meet the artists, view and purchase some of their work!

Being held over two days (9th-10th March), this is the only opportunity in London in 2018 to purchase original Welsh art from a number of Welsh artists showing together at the same time. And for us as Welsh designers, it is a wonderful opportunity to show with Welsh artists and get some great exposure for our work.

The London Welsh Centre is the Welsh cultural hub in London and therefore provides the perfect space for such a great opportunity for anyone interested in Welsh art. All sales of artwork will be commission-free so the buyer knows that every artist is getting the full benefit for their hard work. Its open to everyone so feel free drop in and see us.

We collaborated with ceramic tile specialist Johnson Tiles to create a set of tile panels for use on the interior and exterior of hospitality, domestic and workspace projects.

Thanks to Johnson Tiles' expert Artile™ service, the vibrancy of the Patternistas work can be applied to any design project. The tiles were unveiled at Sleep 2017, the hotel exhibition, Islington, London.

In preparation for the event, Johnson Tiles asked us to share our inspiration for the six patterns that make up Artile™ Series 1: Patternistas:

“These designs draw on themes and experiences that touch our lives in a personal way, but we hope others will identify with the topics and enjoy the results of our pattern play.”

Three cheers we have been short-listed in two categories for the MIxology North Awards run by Mix Interiors magazine.

CDW festival is always a highlight on our creative calendar and this year we’re looking forward to running a Pattern Workshop for our friends at Ocee Design.

A break from routine has been proven to stimulate the brain cells and improve productivity and so we hope you’ll join us at their Clerkenwell showroom at 11am on Thursday 25th May, 20 Old Street, EC1V 9AB

Take some time out to contemplate the world from a patterned perspective and have some fun making amazing patterns with simple, playful tools. All materials will be provided and no special skills are required. As you can see from our previous workshops you can get some great results in a short space of time.

Unleashing your creativity can improve analytical thinking and help you find innovative ways to solve problems - so come interact with some industry professionals and learn how pattern can energize an interior and highlight collaborative work areas.

Creative Surface Pattern Workshop at BCFA Open, London

We delivered three creative Surface Pattern Workshops at BCFA Open Spring Design on Wednesday the 29th March at 11:30am, 2:30pm &  3.30pm in London – The Old Truman Brewery.  Here is a link to the original invite

Our Surface Pattern Workshop guided designers from other disciplines through playful mark-making, using simple tools and techniques. Encouraging them to take some time to contemplate composition and respond to the rhythm of repeat patterns.  The workshops were designed to be a break from their routine to stimulate the brain cells and unleash creativity. No special skills we required and we supplied a deliberately simple set of mark making tools and materials.

The BCFA Open was a two day event on the 28th and 29th of March and the keynote speaker on the 28th being the inspirational Wayne Hemingway. There was also a panel discussion about 'creativity' which was chaired by David Smalley of Mix Interiors to start proceedings.

The workshops were a great success with some very exciting results from the fifty creatives from London's A&D community who took part.
